Elchin Khalilov has informed about the beginning of new project GNFE under the name "Geodynamic monitoring and hazard early warning system in landslide areas:"GeoDyn".

The new project is based on use of long-term experience effective application of international systems and geodynamical monitoring for forecasting of earthquakes. The project's mission is to create an effective technology for monitoring and early warning of people about the danger of a landslide, reducing thereby the risk to potential victims and other negative consequences of landslides affecting cities and high-risk industrial facilities (main highways and railways, dams, fuel storages and warehouses for toxic substances, petrochemical plants, etc.).


Prof. Elchin Khalilov is President of the Global Network for the Forecasting of Earthquakes GNFE (UK) and Chairman of GEOCHANGE International Committee (Germany), gave the forecast of seismic activity of the world till 2026 on behalf of the above-mentioned organizations.

About GNFE Training Center


The earthquake forecast technology employed by the Global Network for the Forecasting of Earthquakes (GNFE) rests upon new physical principles and methodology. The new technology by GNFE has some features which make it considerably different from all known technologies. Those differences are based on not only brand new registering devices never used before but also new criteria for earthquake forecasting.

To sum up the aforesaid, we can say that GNFE employs a new philosophy of short-term earthquake forecasting. GNFE Training Center's teaching materials provide brief information on this new philosophy.



GNFE Training Center's mission and objectives

Global Network for the Forecasting of Earthquakes (GNFE) has established this Training Center for the purpose of instructing and testing experts and scientists involved in full and associate GNFE members' research groups in various countries.

The Training Center's main objectives are:

  • Constant improvement of certified specialists' professional skills within the process of technology upgrade;
  • Conducting educational and scientific-methodological workshops;
  • Setting up Internet forums for scientific discussion;
  • Holding international video conferences over the Internet;
  • Publication of curricula, textbooks, guidelines, instructions and other educational and methodical materials;
  • Testing and international certification of GNFE scientists and experts;
  • Training of new personnel for GNFE;
  • Popularization of information about the new GNFE technology.



GNFE Curriculum comprises four main training courses corresponding to GNFE specialists' qualification levels: Basic course: "Operator of GNFE"; Base course: "Expert of GNFE"; Intermediate course: "Master of GNFE"; Advanced course: "Leader of GNFE", respectively.



After finishing the training course GNFE scientists and experts are certified subject to testing. According to the testing results, GNFE scientists and experts are given a due qualification level and presented with a GNFE Training Center certificate.

Each GNFE Training Center certificate has an approved bar code.

GNFE Training Center is headed by Director General. Currently, the office is held by GNFE President Prof. Dr. Elchin Khalilov. Board of Directors consisting of the Academic Affairs Director, Textbook Publishing Director and Planning and Coordination Director is the Training Center's administrative body.



The training for scientists and experts is provided during academic workshops. The number of workshops to be scheduled for each training course may range from one to several depending on their duration.

Workshops are usually combined with GNFE events in various countries. E.g. first course workshops usually coincide with the period when an ATROPATENA earthquake forecast station is set up in a certain country.  Workshops can be combined with GNFE Presidium sessions and scientific conferences as well.




 GNFE Training Center website ( is a key link in the Training Center's activity. The website hosts all essential information about the education system, curricula, guidelines, new textbooks as well as news and announcements. Besides, a special "Interactive Education" section provides an effective interactive training course with the help of controlled 3D animation.


Use of the most recent achievements in the field of 3D animation has made it possible to effectively demonstrate many complex physical processes. The interactive education allows to better understand physical principles of operation of the devices and methods involved.

In the course of the interactive education, a specialist can operate 3D animations according to his/her will and achieve best visual perception. Moreover, controlled animations make it possible to be used during presentations when delivering papers at conferences. All interactive animations are copyrighted.



Technological advancement of GNFE and expansion of its activity involving more and more countries calls for GNFE Training Center's proper development.

GNFE plans for future include creation of joint educational institutions within the world's major and prominent universities. Students of the leading universities worldwide will be able to acquire new knowledge of earthquake forecasting.
